The New York City Council restored funding for key job training programs to pre-pandemic levels in the recently passed city budget.

Jobs to Build On and Worker Service Centers are the City Council’s two premier workforce development programs. JtBO and WSC provide funding to dozens of community organizations across the city to deliver services ranging from basic job readiness preparation to certification programs for in-demand jobs. Both programs are administered by CWE.

CWE’s partnership with Make the Road NY to provide Know Your Rights training to immigrant New Yorkers was refunded by the City Council as well.

As New York continues to work through the pandemic and residents look to return to work in a changed economy, these programs will make the difference for workers who too often are left behind in an economic recovery.
